For mobile users this is especially useful, so you can distinguish your connection at home from your work connection and different wifi connections while on the road.

For example, in the picture on the right you see a user that uses his computer on multiple locations with different providers. This user uses Solcon,Online, KPN and Surfnet in the Netherlands and presumably while on vacation a cable modem provider in Portugal.

If you installed the client on your desktop machine, you probably don’t switch providers that often. But if you do switch, that will also be shown, like in the image below. Here you can see our own connection, switching from Ziggo to Tweak. The yellow dot from XS4all was from an outage day of Ziggo, where we temporarily switched to a Xs4all line.

In some countries the isp data is fragmented over multiple entries, while it’s the same isp. If that’s the case for your connection, please let us know and we will correct it.

• Average user has 2,7 internetsessions per day
• Average session duration is 3.5 hours
• The number of sessions is not influenced by speed
• Faster internetusers are longer online, so their sessions are longer

The press-release in dutch

With this gadget you can check your own speed (offcourse) but you can also see the speeds of your friends if they have tested their connection. Also available is an overview of the fastest hyvers of the last day, so you can see who has some really fast connections. We are working on more ideas and features for this gadget.

We will provide gadgets for other social network platforms, hopefully in the near future.

As you can see, our speed of the last 2 days is seriously slower then before. This is because our provider Ziggo had a major outage yesterday and we switched to a second line from Xs4all.We’ll improve on the chart in the near future with a split trendline between different providers, so if you switch providers  or are a laptop/mobile user, your results will be more consistent and it’s more obvious which test was done on which network.

We also put a list on the side of the page with links to charts from other countries and put the different countries under their territories. Click on the territory names to display the countries that belong to that list and click on the countries to see their trends. Unfortunately not all countries have trends yet, but they will with your help.
